Powder Coating Additives

Powder coatings are a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The coating is typically applied electrostatically and cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a polymeric film. Powder coatings are mainly used to coat metals (such as household appliances), aluminum extrusions, drum hardware, and automobile and bicycle parts.

Improvement of levelling and prevention of craters are the most important requirements in powder coatings. Additives can also enhance degassing and pigment wetting and, with special types, flat and even textured surfaces can be achieved.
