
Matting agent is an additive added to powder coating formulations to reduce the gloss of the coating film. It creates a rough microscopic coating surface through the compatibility difference between the matting agent and other base materials.
Hoyonn Matting Agent Series is developed for various powder coating systems.
Matting Curing Agent SV-B68
B68 is a salt formed by cyclic amidine and polybasic acid. It can be used as a matting curing agent for pure epoxy or polyester-epoxy hybrid powder coatings.
Performance & Application
- Appearance: White powder.
- Softening Point: 220-230℃.
- Matting Performance: Using SV-B68 in pure epoxy system can obtain stable gloss of 2-3%. Using SV-B68 in polyester-epoxy system can obtain stable medium-to-low gloss.
- Matting Principle: Chemical reaction, consume 8-10 units of epoxy per unit SV-B68 in the formulation.
- Coating Surface: Flat, smooth, and fine.
- Mechanical Property: Impact resistance ±50KG*cm, excellent mechanical property.
- Stability: Gloss is almost unchanged at 200±10℃, good storability.
- Storage Condition: 30℃, two years.
Indoor Physical Matting Agent VE302/VE306
VE302/VE306 are non-wax indoor physical matting agents for polyester-epoxy hybrid powder coatings. They are anti-yellowing, non-fuming, cost-effective, and can achieve fine surface. VE302 has stronger matting ability than VE306.
Performance & Application
- Appearance: White or light yellow powder.
- Softening Point: 100-130℃.
- Matting Performance: Adding 3% VE302 can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 2-4%. Adding 3% VE306 can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 4-6%.
- Matting Principle: Non-wax, chemical reaction, no extra consumption of epoxy.
- Coating Surface: Flat, smooth and fine, no yellowing.
- Mechanical Property: Impact resistance ±50KG*cm, excellent mechanical property.
- Stability: Gloss is almost unchanged at 200±10℃, good storability.
- Resin Applicability: Excellent matting effect in 40/60 and 50/50 type polyester, best matting effect in 50/50 type matting polyester with acid value 69-72mgKOH/g.

Indoor Semi-chemical Matting Agent VE403C
VE403C is a new indoor semi-chemical matting agent for polyester-epoxy hybrid powder coatings. It is anti-yellowing, non-fuming, and can achieve stable gloss and fine surface.

- Appearance: White or light yellow powder.
- Softening Point: 100-120℃.
- Matting Performance: Adding 4% VE403C can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 3-4%.
- Matting Principle: Non-wax, chemical reaction, 1:2(matting agent:epoxy) epoxy consumption in the formulation.
- Coating Surface: Flat and smooth, extremely fine, no yellowing.
- Mechanical Property: Impact resistance ±50KG*cm, excellent mechanical property.
- Stability: Gloss is almost unchanged at 200±10℃, good storability.
- Resin Applicability: Good matting effect in most 50/50 and 60/40 polyester.

Outdoor Matting Agent VT510/VT505
VT510/VT505 are outdoor matting agents for polyester-TGIC system. VT505 has stronger matting ability than VT510.

- Appearance: White or light yellow powder.
- Softening Point: 100-130℃.
- Matting Performance: Adding 5% VT510 can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 8-10%. Adding 6% VT505 can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 3-5%.
- Matting Principle: Non-wax, chemical reaction, no extra consumption of TGIC.
- Coating Surface: Flat, smooth and fine.
- Mechanical Property: Impact resistance ±50KG*cm, excellent mechanical property.
- Stability: Gloss is almost unchanged at 200±10℃, good storability.
- Resin Applicability: The reaction speed is relatively slow. Best matting effect in matting polyester with acid value 28-33mgKOH/g, such as Shenjian SJ4ET, Yochon 7600, Kinte NH8506.

HAA Matting Agent VH710
VH710 is a matting agent specially for polyester-Primid powder coatings. It has good matting effect and can effectively improve leveling and mechanical properties.
Performance & Application
- Appearance: White or light yellow powder.
- Softening Point: 100-140℃.
- Matting Performance: Adding 7% VH710 can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 8-10%. Used with Modified Matte Powder MH-803 can obtain a minimum G60° gloss of 6%.
- Matting Principle: Non-wax, chemical reaction, no extra consumption of HAA/T105 or polyester.
- Coating Surface: Flat, smooth and fine, no yellowing.
- Mechanical Property: Impact resistance ±50KG*cm, excellent mechanical property.
- Stability: Gloss is almost unchanged at 190±10℃, too high a temperature may cause yellowing. Good storability.
- Resin Applicability: Best matting effect in 95/5 Primid polyester with acid value 30-35mgKOH/g.

Cautions
- It is recommended to do advanced sample test before bulk production.
- The use of accelerator may cause the gloss to rise. Some organic pigments may cause color change before or after curing.
- Powder coating configured with Hoyonn Matting Agents has good storability. But it is recommended to use as soon as possible in hot weather in case of any risk caused by long-time storage.
- Storage condition: 30℃, one year. Package: 25KG/bag.
